    X100s focus question

Hi all, I am rather new to the X100S, bought it about 4 weeks ago. I have been having problem with the focusing. Whenever I want to do the focus-and-recompose, I realised that half-press the shutter button did not really lock the focus, i.e. when I recompose, the focus shifted to the...

Is a Mac really superior in running CS5 ?

No, Mac doesn't run Photoshop faster than PC. What make Mac the choice for pro-Photoshop user is the colour. Mac is calibrated to CMY and Windows uses RGB by default. So the colour u see on Mac screen is exactly what will be printed out.

    7 Sin of D200

If you can read chinese, this article reviewed the 7 sins of the D200. Author being a Minolta owner does have his opinion against Nikon and Cannon, so in my opinion some of those points are a bit too personal, but still interesting to read. http://www.nmzol.com/pingce/yx/200512/7128.html

    Shooting the night sky

Hi all, I've tried taking the night sky using digital SLR. The following photo was taken in New Zealand, shutter 25sec at f/4.5, ISO1600. It however doesn't look very good to me. Any tips? Or digital SLR is simply not for taking night sky?

CRT monitor flickers when placed next to portable TV

CRT monitor is relying on magnetic field to deviate the electrons on the screen to show the images. TV has very strong magnetic field which may cause inteference to the monitor. If you place the TV next to the monitor for a long period, I am afraid the CRT monitor's life will be shortened.

    Digital p&s

P&S is never responsive. You will be deadly annoyed by how slow they are. Quality wise, a lot of them can produce good quality pictures. Canon latest A520 is good.

    Advisable on Redang Island

Bring your DSLR. Can take nice pic of the landscape, beach. Remember to wake up early and take the sun rise. Buy an underwater camera if you want to take the fishes. no point using your expansive DSLR or even digicam. The result woul never be nice. So take the pic for record only.

    extra image(lighting) for night short

Right at the beginning of this sub-forum got the guideline, stciked there for you to read. After reading, post the image so that we know exactly what you are referring to. If you are shooting directly at the light source, I guess that is the ghosting effect. 50mm is just a normal piece of...
