Sticking to Sony cos of Minolta / KM / Sony lens. Too expensive & pointless to switch anyway.

Sony can change it but at what cost I do not know. It's a 4 yr+ cam, maybe it's a better idea to live with it whilst saving up for a new one.:bsmilie:

I do not have the A550 so I don't know how it is. Of the cams that I've tried so far, Minolta's (KM) wb does look more neutral but they too aren't totally accurate since Minolta tend to prefer a slightly warmer tone. I do remember when 7D/5D was out, there were some comparison and canon...

Although no longer in production, the NP-FM50 is not totally gone yet.;) Sonystyle m'sia still list it @ RM$229 under videocam accessories (FM50 usually used by videocams). It's probably best left as a paperweight since you might not be able to bear with the shutter lag.:bsmilie:
