#12, 13 and 14 still too "Vivid". You may like to refer to the bird guide books to have an idea of their colors and this might help you in your camera settings. Oh, and congratulations on your choice of bird photography. Looking forward to seeing more.

Not to worry. Loyalty have changed since 2003 and digital have established itself.

I use a Nikon DX Format camera (D300) and a FX lens (24-70mmf2.8), so using a UV as protection together with a polarizer do not result in vignetting. I do not remove the UV so as to avoid dust on lens front element and this also saves me time. Otherwise I will be fumbling with the filters...

My photographs both color and b/w fades or turn yellowish with self stick albums. Is there any such albums /brands that do not ?? Thanks

FF or 1.6x -- the 17-40L will not disappoint. From own experience.
