After looking at the lens, i saw its model number 171D. After doing some search, i found this to be the lens http://www.central-camera.com/tamron/28_200.htm however, i could only find a 171A at tamron.com, wonder if they are the same.

I'm looking into getting a new entry dslr, which means the D70. I have a old nikon slr at home, not mine and it has this tamron lens on it. I'm wondering whether this len will work with the D70. I have no idea what this len is.(i'm a newbie) but what i see on the len is suff like Tamron LD...
