I'm getting my hands on this Sigma 50mm f1.4 today from a friend who is returning from HK. Hs said the focus was clear and fast when he tested it at the shop. I hope I do not have to send it in for calibration. Just want a confirmation...some have mentioned that calibration at sigma is no longer...

Point noted. thanks for your inputs. Even with the budget, I would not have considered the 16-35mm. I am sure you are extremely pleased with a 16-35mm and I am sure it is a very very good piece of glass, but the range is just too short for my needs. Not to mention the use of HD video, noise...
