buy buy buy the 17-40 F4L... this lens is definately a steal for the price.

Focusing on the wall was intentionally to see how long it takes to do a full two sided hunt... but it only hunt one side?... hmm.. :dunno:

Room lighting. When focusing on subject with high contrast, it does not hunt. but the duration it takes to obtain focus takes much longer than my 28-135 IS. When I focus on an entire white wall to let it hunt, it hunt much slower than my 28-135 IS which have a focus meter of up to 10m...

Uh ho... perhaps tis calls for a visit to canon... warranty claim time... daim... :cry:

Just got my 24-70 yesterday, and was running a couple of test since then. I've found that the AF of this lens to be slow, as compare to my 17-40, even the comsumer lens 28-135 IS. Anyone had this lens before? did you share the same experience? According to a friend, this lens is not meant...

Anyone knows the prices of B+W 77mm UV and Circular Polarizer? I'm considering either B+W or Hoya Super Slim, but am not sure which is better... any comments??? :D:D thanks.

huh? the different within these two f stops suppose to give you different in ranges that is infocus... I suppose, it is either u didn't meter the subject right, or you are using Manual mode having the shuttle speed not set correctly DOF = the depth, or range of the in-focus area small F...

need a tripod to take such shots??? Generally, what's the exposure setting used?
