I didnt physically remove the strap to mount the D10.. from judgment and slack of strap, it is still able to use the hand strap. Will post some pics when i mount my D10 and see if the strap can be strapped on..

Yes, the other hole has screw thread on it so you can mount it without taking the plate off. Only thing if you need to mount the D10 battery pack then thats a diff story.
