Close up on Slower Things at FCH

Hi Xaer, Nice macros. I found one of those beetles too, at the zoo... a friend told me it's called the man-face beetle (if you look at it the right way, it actually does look like a face, or an african mask actually).

Help! A Cat came into my house!

Thanks for offering the alternative. Reason for the euthanasia is they are non-profit and cannot afford to keep all the animals. It's not govt funded. So comparing to humans is not a good one. If the Cat Welfare Society can afford to do it, then that's great. Frankly, I'm not sure how they...

Help! A Cat came into my house!

Call the SPCA tomorrow morning (after 8.30am). They will come over and collect the cat. SPCA does not "cull". They have licensed veterinarians at their premises. If the cat is well, it will stand a good chance of being adopted out. Unfortunately, euthanasia is necessary in many cases...

To the Zoo on Sunday 29 Aug 04

I just happen to be going there on Sunday, cos my ticket expires next week. If I manage to get there early, I'll definately give you guys a call. Btw, is there an abundance of insects/dragonflies at the zoo? cos I'm wondering if I should bring my macro lens etc.. along as well.

    Designer Wear

I really like No. 1. There is the problem of 'red eye' though. Suppose you can just PS that away. Great job.

    First time shooting sunbirds

Wonderful shots. The day I manage to capture one that close, will be a very happy day for me. I like it's posture in #3. Maybe you could PS the distracting background away...

Photo album - where to get non acid free paper?

The other day when I was at Arts Friend, I noticed some black ring bound journals (near the counter). I figured this must be what simonsng was talking about. It didn't say acid-free anywhere on the journal, so I asked one of the guys working there, and he said that they are acid-free. I said...

    Ducks Galore

histograms, schmistograms... I like no. 3 the most, despite the "thing in its neck". I think it's just a ruffled feather protruding from it's rear. It's a very cute moment. Would be even better if the ducks head was more sharp. But anyway, great try.

    Various Butterflies

thanks for the info OzTron. Now I'm REALLY excited about going. It'll be for a 2 year duration. Just going off track a bit, I noticed the arboretum has scheduled a family fireworks picnic... is this the best place to catch the 4th of July fireworks? Keep posting your photos! :)

    Singapore Botanic Gardens Outing

Love to join you all, esp. since I see so many familiar names. But I don't think I can drag myself out of bed that early. On another note, wouldn't the dragonflies be frightened away with such a big crowd?

    50mm attached in reverse????

I only have one macro lens lah... but it still can't get me as close as I'd like it to. I'm not gonna use the N60 for macro. Using the F100 (now I also have a D70... yippee) But anyway, thanks for the tips! :) I'm going shopping this weekend for filters actually.
