i'm using 40d before 2 bodies of 5D Mk II, at first i feel the AF of 5D Mk II is much slower than 40d. I'm using canon STE-2 to help the AF speed of 5D mk II, or if you have 580 EX II, you can set the flash to just transmit the IR assist only. read your manuals.

for my own opinion and my photoraphy IS not so much worth, if the speed to low, i will bump the ISO or using flash. i hope canon will build 21-105/1.4 L someday :bsmilie:

filter's brand decide the quality. now I'm using B+W filters, my pictures more vibrant, clear than using other brand (H***) not a brand war, just my experience with few brands of filter. never using filter-less lens on my gears, too risky for me

totally agree, i'm using glasses too, my view is better when i remove the eye cup, my view goes better.

what kind of photography that you doing? if you works with good lighting, as in studio or daylight outdoor, 1 Ds mk II is a good choice, good color depth, robust body, enough MP, focus accuracy in series 1 camera. but if you deal with not ideal lighting condition, 5D mk II is the best (for me)...

i did trying once, using very soft brush (brush to clean up the stylus in vinyl player) no guarantee, but it works for me, do it very carefully, focusing screen is easy to scratch/damaged
