Considered that but I kinda enjoy the shallow DOF that the my current lens allows. :) I'm the only one among my friends who has a DSLR so no way to do that :( Will be looking for alternatives of the 24L :) Thank you for your suggestions :)

Hi all, I've been using EF 35mm f2 on 550D for about 2 years. It's the only lens I have. It's a cheap and good lens and I'm happy with the lens generally. Using it for casual shots with my friends. However I find 35mm on crop abit tight for my use. I find myself often wishing the lens...

So u are comfortable with the 18-55mm and now wishing for bigger apertures? Does that point at the tamron 17-50mm? Settle for that 1st. See what focal lengths you shoot at most of the time and consider primes later?

hmmm, but i thought the tamron 18-270 is also f5.6 @ 200mm? So is focusing slower due to other reasons?

I just use a piece of tissue paper, fold it in 2 and cover the flash with it.
