when buying, check with the seller if the model you are using compatible. tested a third party battery on canon 5D2 and it is ok. but when it was put inside 5D3, it do turn on the camera but it do have some issue with the battery at time

This is a good starter combo. Felt kinda limited by the lens can means alot of things like cannot go to close or dof is too narrow. Different lens can do wanders but it can also make a hole in your wallet. Tell us what limitation by the lens means to you.

Good camera price dont drop much even thought it is like 4yrs old now.

if you are video shooting, Tamron is the choice. As for sharpness, you can do some pp and is good to go.
