Books for B&W photography and processing?

Sorry, but I'm not actually in sg :) Brunei doesn't have any of the big book stores like Borders hence I plan to get 'em online and I prefer to own these kinda books anyway coz I like to be able to refer to them now and again. Since I'm buying sight unseen, I'd like to know if there's any...

Books for B&W photography and processing?

I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything, or maybe I just suck at it. Anyways, can anyone recommend good books for digital B&W photography? Preferably (but not necessarily) one that's been updated for Photoshop CS4 or LR2 but not limited to just processing techniques if possible...

Series E primes - Worth getting?

I'm looking for fast and light primes, particularly in the telephoto range.. say somewhere between 100 to 200mm. I gather these lenses were made as budget primes way back when. I don't mind the manual focusing. I do want decent IQ, though I'm not too picky in that area either - I don't...

UWA, Nikon 10-24, tokina 10-17 or tokina 11-16

Doesn't Tamron have a 10-24mm offering? Or is it not a contender at all? Haven't really looked for reviews on it since I'm on FX myself.

    A NYC Story >> Slideshow

I like it! A lot! A very refreshing take on presentation which adds a lot more story to the photos. Perhaps even more than an actual video might have. I can feel my imagination running when looking at the series and hearing the various sounds. Good work you've done here. :)

    HDR ABC or 123

I think natural or not, that's up to the taste of the photographer himself/herself. I prefer natural too but sometimes find myself inadvertently going a bit surreal when I do HDR before I even realize it.

    Manfrotto 190CXPro4

Currently using the 322RC2 ballhead with the grip thingy, which is too big for a travel head IMO. I've been looking at possible avenues to sell off my current setup but no such luck yet.

    Manfrotto 190CXPro4

Thanks, good to know it can support that kinda weight. I more or less know about the features of the 190 series, having handled the 055 for quite some time, but thanks anyways. :) Yeah, I think I read somewhere that it's better to compromise on the legs rather than the head. But perhaps I...

    Manfrotto 190CXPro4

Hm the price of the Markins is out of my league at the moment. Plus it's not available at my nearest camera store. My budget's about S$150 for the ballhead, give or take. And at that price range, the store only has the Manfrotto 488RC2/RC4 and Giottos MH1302 with the 652 series quick release...

Do you drink coffee every morning?

Hmm every time I have lectures to attend. I'm starting to think universities and colleges ought to provide complimentary coffee at least once a day. Might be a sure way to raise their standards.

    Manfrotto 190CXPro4

Hi, I'm almost committed to getting the 190CXPro4, but I'd like to hear some opinions from other users if they've had any problems with it. I'm also considering the Gitzo GT1541T traveler, but I don't quite like the twist lock mechanism plus it's a helluva lot more expensive. It is lighter...
