Just to update this thread. The sale is still on till tomorrow (30/11).

I have similar problem. I think the 'plastic' encasement of the battery is thick that's why peel off easily. But I'll continue to use as long as it's intact and safe.

Indeed you should have done a search, it's very often mentioned. But anyways, John 3:16, Alan Photo (some may disagree) from Funan and Cathay Photo (again, some may disagree) from Peninsula. Most importantly, do your research from Clubsnap first before going.

For $400, buy a used Nikon D50 with used 18-55 lens, should fit your budget. Forget about recording movies with this, concentrate with just taking pics. I find handling both at the same time distracting. This should last you half a year at least before you decide to continue, maybe upgrades.
