Ironically the near unanimous opinion here is that the battery grip is great from an ergonomic view. Unlikely to ever need for the battery life although the AA backup option might be useful in some remote locations ??
I dont like it personally and sold mine on - even with my heavy lenses am ok...

If you are just simply trying to print and not too fussed with paper and are happy with simple photography paper (which is pretty damned good) and after simple 18 x 12 (close to A3) inch shot then just save your print to jpeg and take it down to a local...
