Which one spoil? the body or the lens?

I've got a Sigma SA-5, using the 35-105mm lens. when i go to AF mode and focus, the lens makes the usual robotic sound, but the lens don't focus?? anyone got any idea?? camera or lens spoil? Still can manual focus. tOny
