Well, the technician just said that the PCB board needed to be replaced and I did not ask further. Repair was quite expensive for me at Php6,000.00 or about US$127.00.

I had the same problem with my SB-600. The flash was still functioning but the blinking LCD display was annoying. Brought it to Nikon Service here in Manila and a PCB board was replaced.

Hi guys. Would like to try macro photography but not yet in a position to buy a true macro lens. Hence, am considering close-up lens/filters for starters. Any recommendations? Are the ones from Hoya any good? Thanks

I can't decide between the Sigma 10-20 and the Tokina 12-24 for my D50. Have read reviews on the net and both lenses seem ok. However, I would appreciate comment/inputs/advice from actual users/owners of these lenses in this forum. Thanks!

My sb600 exhibited the same symptoms of your "dead" sb600. Do you mind sharing what actually happened to your flash and what was repaired? Thanks!

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. I know these have different ranges and I understand what I want to take (which is just about everything). In other words, I can live with either range. I just want some opinions from actual users about image quality that these two lenses can deliver

Is the price difference between SB-600 and SB-800 justifiable in terms of features? Or I can live with the less expensive SB600 with my d50? Am just a hobbyist who takes snapshots of just about everything. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks, Hewland. The pictures were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens. I just purchased a Nikon 70-300mm G zoom last weekend and will try to post pictures as soon as I can.
