OEM means original equipment manufacturer. Sometimes it also refers to manufactured products or components which are purchased by a company from the original manufacturer then retailed under the purchasing company's brand name. So basically same product but probably under different brand names...

good point Garion... most of us probably still have our older cameras to use in the meantime but there may also be other who have just enough funds for 1 camera so they need to make that single purchase count.

yep, 24mm is wider than 28mm... so the ixus 200 has a better wide angle view than the s90. i'd be happy with a powershot with 24-85mm f2.0-3.5 and AF tracking in the size of the S90. unfortunately, canon had other plans. maybe just wait for the S100 and hope for the best? :bsmilie:

another feature i like about the ixus 200 is the AF tracking function. the S90 also has a similar feature but only works for face detection (unless i'm mistaken). the ixus 200 can track faces or objects in motion. nonetheless, f2.0 and 28mm in a more compact form are still major points for...

one of the new ixus actually has 24-120mm focal range.. i think it's the Ixus 200 IS ... should be good to check out if focal range is one of your more important basis for selecting a camera.

has anyone tried doing a 'write' speed test using different memory cards? does a higher speed memory card improve the time it takes to save an image? i seemed to notice that there's a bit of lag in file saving when i tried it out at vivocity.
