Sucks! My D70 juz sudden death as well today. Blinking CF light. Warranty expired as mine was bought on the first day of release. Will be sending it down to Nikon next week and hopefully they will fix it FOC. :bheart:
Most Nikons have af assist light built-in but they are lights not ir (D70 is one). I am not sure if i can just enable the af assist on sb600 and disable the firing of the flash. I know sb800 can via a custom setting.
Does Nikon have an external infrared af assist light transmitter, something like the canon ST-E2 Speedlite Transmitter? I know the sb800 can be configured to work as one but I am looking for a device that only beam infrared af assist light as I think it would be cheaper. Paying $600 for sb800...
I can easily say that this is the best outdoor model shoot I have had. The food, models and attention to details by Joanne is fantastic! I will be the first to put down my name when the next trip comes along.

Just an update:
The black and white processing course will start next wednesday (7th Jul). There are still 2 more spaces left! Those who are keen can still make it. Please contact Joanne 98583502.

There were some enquiries on the b+w course fee and what it includes. The course fee is $250. It includes a b+w kit which by itself is almost $150. So you are only paying $100 for the course which amounts to only $25 per lesson. Furthermore, chemicals for the processing are provided free...
There is a reason why Stanley structured the course in this way. I would recommend you to drop by and visit Stanley and have a chat with him. He will be in a better position to explain the rationale to you and at the same time, take a look at the course materials and some of the works he has...
