i don't have the tammy but do own the nikkor 70-300 vr. It is a great lens and at this zoom range, vr is a great help. go for it...

D90 + 18-105 kit lens is a great way to start out... gives you a good range to work with and good pictures too!!! As many have indicated earlier, you can always add in a 70-300mm VR lens, a prime lens and a UWA lens as you go along. But for sheer value for money, the D90 + 18-105 kit is the way...

D90 gets my vote... Swivel LCD is a great marketing tool but most of the time you will be using the non-swivel mode. To me, the higher LCD resolution on the D90 makes a big difference when reviewing my shots. You will find the top LCD is extremely useful as well as you use the camera regularly...

agree with mywish 4 on this... 70-300 is a good size lens for travel and offers good iq for the price.
