tried with a tripod....for shutter of 1". the background is great but the person in pic...still blur..it's really hard to tell a person to stand very still for 1". next i will try higher iso (maybe up to 400) to compensate for my faster shutter.

let's say i need to take a person standing in front of clarke quay night... so i guess the best setting for good pic is F2.8 if i can...ISO100 for less noise, compensated by 2" shutter with slow sync flash.....quite obvious...the person have to be still for 2 sec...but is the outcome gonna be gd?

Bros here...any recommended tripod for this compact camera? I need somewhat a height of 1.65, foldable to able 0.50, weighing light.

its really good to have some posting night pictures without using tripod. and it's best to meet him in person to show us how he does it using his both hands to stabilize the f31. i own an f31 and to say even holding firm a 1 sec shutter is difficult

i top up to that, unless some 1 can prove to me f31 can take gd night shots w/o tripod, u sure need a tripod along with it.

how abt taking a group gathering picture on night out.....i do notice that the natural flash is not so good in terms of quality...tied to iso higher than 800 usually.

day pictures is fine but night pictures certainly needs a tripod?

most likely too at 500 maybe if we add freight cost in. it really depends u wana get insurance over something less than 500...cuz its gonna be 20-30%...isst worth it?

yupz tried....but they say its obselete model and not in distribution anymore. so unless // import...its quite difficult. i saw at one website selling at about 425 less shipping. F30 at about 320 less shipping. very tempted to grab. they ship from japan

the only thing thats hindering me from buying s8000 is the lack of silent zoom when taking video clips. zoom not possible when in video. and quite sad that it's iso 3200 and above can only be in lower res
