    Aurora pics from tromso, norway

Nice pix, thanks. It must be cold there. I don't think I can do it, not too keen on such cold weather.

Airlines that insist camera worn around neck is part of carry on weight limit.

My tripod is a Manfrotto. When I fly with my tripod, I usually do what you do - wrap it with some of my clothes and check it in with my luggage. My luggage comprises one backpack. So far, so good. No problems with my tripod; it is still sturdy as ever.

Are you doing anything to upgrade your qualification or skill now?

I thought that was from Spiderman?

Ok to travel to a few countries?

If you are backpacking, have you tried putting in all your stuff and lug it around the block a few times? The first time I went backpacking, I took a "test drive" with my backpack and promptly removed quite a few items. Would you want to take a photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport...

Ok to travel to a few countries?

How is your countdown? May I presume you have bought travel insurance? Do let them know the equipment you will be carrying, just in case. Have a safe trip.

Ok to travel to a few countries?

Yes, Bratislava is near Vienna. I suppose you would need to check what you want to photograph in Bratislava and Vienna before making that decision. I believe the Autumn Rail timetable is out by now. When I was travelling in Europe almost 30 years ago, I relied on the Thomas Cook Railway...

Ok to travel to a few countries?

I would agree that the itinerary is unrealistic if the OP/thread starter had intended this trip to be a normal sightseeing trip, hitting the famous landmarks etc. for every city planned on the list. As I understand it, the OP/thread starter's plan is to go take timelapse photos. Since this...

Ok to travel to a few countries?

Laundry? What laundry? Would it be possible to bring along some old clothes to wear and dispose? And one pair of jeans will do for the whole trip! You might want to disinfect the pair of jeans when you come home though :) If you are comfortable with them, try using disposable undies...

Straits Times Left Lorem Ipsum Placeholder In Article

Is it just me, or does that sound like a masochist? What is the background/story of this phrase?

This is how luggage is handled (at least in Canada)

The clip seems to lay the blame on Air Canada. Somehow I have the feeling that it is more the airport's personnel that is to be blamed than the airline. So the original poster's topic is more accurate - this is what happens in Canada's airport.

Hmm, the female models are nice and the body painting is artistic. Somehow, I have a reservation. If the car is really that good, does the car maker need female models (un)dressed in this way to sell the car? Or is there only minor differences between the different car manufacturer's spec so...

    Xi'an/Chengdu

I feel where you are able to go and how much you are able to see would depend very much on the amount of time you have for your break. Do be aware that Qing Ming is a public holiday - you mentioned you will be in Xi'an for a wedding in April - and the crowds can be horrendous. If time is...

Ok to travel to a few countries?

Hey BBTM, you had planned to leave in July 2014, if my memory serves. How close are you to finalising your travels? You may find the Thomas Cook Railway Timetable for Summer (they have different one out for each season) useful for your planning. Are you also preparing your body for this...

Ok to travel to a few countries?

Looks like a good run. The last one, France, is a bit vague - I presume you mean Paris. France is a pretty damn big place. Have a good time, have a safe trip, and don't leave home without plastic and rubber. :-)

Ok to travel to a few countries?

I do not mean to be personal, but how old are you? When I was in my 20's I managed almost all the countries in your itinerary in 4 weeks, starting from London (i.e. excluding flight times). Quarter century later, I managed to covered 5 countries - 7 cities in 3 weeks, including flight time...
