I just wonder how firm can the grip be when u mount a longer lens in front.

I havent tried concert photography, but ISO 400-800 indoor seems quite usable with a bit of noise.

I thought HDR is meant to widen the possible range of light on a photo. Ultimately, the photo should still look quite natural. Anyway, I'm just a newbie, so perhaps I thought wrong.

Wow ... with $2000, you can really have a lot of choices. I am a new user to lumix LX3 and the camera can do wonders. But I never did much portrait shots so I cant comment whether you can achieve what you want with LX3. But its definitely within budget and handy to carry around.

seems like G1 + 14-45mm + 45-200mm is only 79800 yen in Japan. Less than $1.2K!!! Where MS Colour quoted me $1.5K for both.
