Dual purpose Lens help: macro vs tele vs portraitd

If you forgo the macro - 50 1.4 take baby photos don't need so long esp if taking indoors at home ESp if you want to capture moments and no flash is being used Also functions well for street photography Of course also depends on yr shooting style . Otherwise , try the 100 macro + 50 1.8

    35L 1.4 or 50L 1.2???Which will be more of a everyday lens?

I have both - leaving aside the width which is partly personal pref , I prefer the 50L It does a better job of compensating for my lack of skill. IMHO colours come out more vibrant

    Actual Fluorite and Artificial Fluorite.

Most L lens do not have fluorite Its too expensive - the fact that its been around for decades and Canon keeps trumpeting newer and cheaper lens tech for use in place of fluorite says everything , its in all their literature, lens lineup books etc

Which is your favourite or most sought after Billingham bag?

Good for you , my Hadley has fur on the back The f stop series will work very well for those who do not already have a Hadley Conversely the differences btwn the 2 are few and do not really justify getting both

    Canon 50mm F1.2L vs F1.4

How many people actually own this lens, and how many % change to 1.4 and why do they do so. that's the only real question to be asked Catty comments from one's station in life or making irrelevant comments isn't helpful

Which is your favourite or most sought after Billingham bag?

X2. I went to see the f-stops the other day Doesnt make sense at all for those who already have a variant of the hadleys, though the zipper compartment In the rear and the small concealed and padded pocket is useful And whats up with the strange unwieldy straps for the new 7s? Seems like a...

What is the profit margin for an ave lens from Cathay/John 3:16 etc?

Dept stores easily have 200-300% markup on their wares It all goes to wages, rent, profit and then sopme for discounts etc Why shd camera shops be any different Everyone loves a good deal but the point is to try and support your favourite shops even if a little bit more expensive, so...

Rip off by Bally photo at funan #05-k7

That's a sweeping statement I got 50d kit 2 from Harvey Norman some years back when it was launched. It gave me 2 good things - ability to use credit card points/vouchers and extended warranty. Total cost was ard 1k. Some people may also want interest free credit card plans There...

    Resolving power of lenses

Haha I think we are on the same page All I wanted to do is to say the word out resolve is very clinical and artificial since all that we mean is that there is a limit to what the optics can do at consumer/dslr price points, and I suppose size constraints, and the sensors have caught up...

    Resolving power of lenses

thanks, that's what i needed. the use of the word "out resolve" and terminology used in this thread is misleading. it suggests a "digital" issue eg sensors megapixels (how the heck do you translate that kind of explanation into lenses anyway), when it is a "physical" issue. ie glass not good...

    Your advice please

24-70 does not have IS It is a very sturdy , and hence heavy lens Is the weight going to put you off photography in the next 2 years, eg too heavy so don't bother to brogan it out?
