Remember that the polarizer filter works best at 90 degree angles to the sun. And also try to get in the habit of turning it counter-clockwise so that you don't accidentally unscrew it.
I shoot a lot of sunrise/sunset shots and basically use my Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6. The problem I'm having is that as the scene gets darker, the lens won't take the shot. I can get the shot up to a point but then the shutter won't click. What lens does anyone use or what is the best lens in...
You might look into the Sigma 10-20mm, there are two versions of it, the older f4/5.6 and the newer f3.5. Both are good lenses. I don't know if they would be fast enough for darker locations, but you'd need a flash anyway.
Just bought one a month ago, for $150 US. GREAT lens! Very sharp. A bit heavy, but it's worth it. I highly recommend buying one. You won't be disappointed!
