thks for your advice everybody. i can get the flash firing off camera on a cord but hoped that by using the *wireless* skyport transmitter i could trigger the 580 and my strobe without using the cord. guess not?

do i need to use the cord... i thought both the skyport and speedlite can operate wireless? nick
