Self Standing Monopod not very stable as you think it is, especially when extend it's height further. Since your KX and lenses wasn't that bulky and heavy, a cheap and light 3-way pan-tilt head should good enough.

Agree, If AF speed and accuracy for lowlight situation is what TS after, perhaps Pentax not what you looking for. If really want to get a Pentax, perhaps use a dedicated flash with AF assist?
