S2 Pro with Nikon 18-70 DX

Even better than I expected  . One of the sharpest lenses I have ever owned. Have a look at my latest portfolio called Sydney, all taken with the 18-70 http://www.highsocietyphotographers.com/dportfoliod.shtml?31

Europe in Black and White (*Quite a lot of pics*)

Or maybe just the viewfinder accuracy these days are not so accurate. Happens with me all the time, even when I turn the viewfinder grid on. By the way, I love the St Peter's Basilica photo. I think it is just perfect in BW, although I can see you were not using tripod :( I also...

    S2 addiction? Perhaps.

Sold this camera to my sister. Luckily she only turns this camera on every 3 months or so, so I can still borrow it most of the time :D Last time I even took it travelling for a month with me! Why I cannot live without it? Velvia, Provia, Astia by clicking a button! Taken with S2...

    18-70 Condensation

I am sorry I haven't followed this thread (been flying all over for the last few days). Thanks for the response guys. I was probably just a bit to concerned, simply because this is the first lens that does this to me. None of my old Nikkor lenses do this to me (none of any brand of my old...

    18-70 Condensation

Hi guys, Just got this secondhand 18-70 Nikkor, and this morning I opened the lens cap and found that the most front lens got condensation. I think this is a sign of bad build quality (it is not airtight enough to prevent condensation). Even my Sigma lenses never experience such thing...

Nikon DSLRs minimum of ISO 200?

A noisy picture is better than a blurred one About ISO200, I thought it is more the CCD design (Sony's), this also the same minimum ISO setting for another camera that uses the same CCD model: Pentax *istD.

why the need to upgrade to DSLR?

Go to my website http://www.geocities.com/bramanteperkasa/ and download a small article (pdf) I wrote about why you should choose a digital SLR over a prosumer, or vice versa.

    Where to download Shooting Software

Dear guys, Next week I will be required to take photographs direct to a Firewire-equipped notebook. My S2 does not come with any "Camera Shooting Software" where I can shoot directly to the (PC) notebook via the firewire. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Even the...

Fastest & most reliable CFII with S2 Pro

it is NOT as fragile as a lot of people say. It writes faster than most CFs I have been using mine for almost a year with no problem at all.Not even bad sector.

    SD to CF adaptor

I saw one like like this last year at a shop on the third floor in Funan next to DOML. But the SD Card is still protruding out when you stick it to the CF adapter, making it impossible for use with digicams, as most digicams turns itself off when you open the CF Door. Looks like it is intended...

    Digital Cams

Coolpix 5700 is the most sluggish camera I have ever tried. But then again, go with your heart. I compared 5700 against 7Hi few months back (http://www.geocities.com/bramanteperkasa/ ) have a look there. If youthink 5700 is too inferior compared to 7Hi, than A1 will be much better. If you...

How To: Take Object in Motion?

Apart from that do not forget that most digital cameras' smallest aperture is around f/8, leaving you with exposure problem. You have to wait until around 5pm to get correct exposure (1/30 second). Please have a look at my website in my signature below, I wrote an article about panning with...

Should I snap in the ratio 3:2 or 4:3?

Digicam was originally made for computer screen/monitor (there was not enough resolution for printing), that's why most digicams use 4:3 ratio. Coolpix 5700 is one of few that can change format ratio. Anyway, if you are intending to print your results, without cropping (crop using your...
