    Dragon, Flies, & a Beetle

Well, I prefer using manual mode with shutter speeds of 1/250 or smaller, but I do shoot in Av mode where it often gives me a 1/60 shutter speed and I seem to do OK with it. I have learned a number of ways of bracing the camera (with the neckstrap, against my knee, etc) that help a lot.

    Dragon, Flies, & a Beetle

Here are a trio of my favorite shots of the past week or two. All were shot with the Canon G3. The dragon was taken with a hanimex +6 clsoeup followed by the tiffen 2x teleconverter. The beetle and flies were taken with a pentax 50mm 1.4 attached in the reverse position to the G3. All were...

    Eye and Rain drop

The bugs eyes are just awesome. The pattern of the compound eyes is just facinating.

    Some insect shots at AH

If you know your way around photoshop, you can make one image from two that is better than either original.

    Stray Cats [A70]

Cool cat. I like #3 best, but wish the nose was cleaner and the background more subdued.

    Some butterflies shots

Beautiful creatures. I especially like number two better because you handled the exposure better on it.

    Some insect shots at AH

Your images are a pleasure to view. I like the personal nature of the spider shot, but like the 4th image of the butterfly the best because of the clarity and colorful muted background. Wish the wing wasn't clipped on that one.
