    about 20cm at max. zoom, without is about 40cm, so you are about half the distance closer with the VCL-M3358. (no effect at wide setting)

    If you have the adapter that comes with the teleconverter lens, or a 3rd party one for 58mm filters, then you can actually use any 58mm close-up filter. For best quality use a dual element one. like the Sony 58mm close-up or Canon 250D 58mm. Or use step up/down rings to use other filter thread...
