Reminds me of my insurance agent telling me.. as I always buy travel insurance when i go on overseas trip, if I misplace my things, report it as stolen, stolen items is easiler and more chance to claim then if you report you misplace it... Opps.. OT already :sweat:

Sorry to hear that you lost your cam... Thats why equipment insurance is now earning lots of money coz there is quite a number of thief out there... To get them to check on your case, unless you are some big shots or the stolen items is involved few millions... For this kinda stolen...

good idea, shd be able to compliment the current Land/City-scapes and Travel under Photo Galleries. Maybe put it under Usergroup Discussions??? just a suggestion from me :)

Got a friend who had this problem too .. but his is a sigma 70-300 with a Minota DSLR. Out of sudden cannot AF, send it in for servicing and diag with a broken inner part due to "overspeeding" motor forcusing too fast and will take more then 2 weeks due to lack of spares.

Think the danger i can think of self upgrade is when you OFF your camera before the update is complete.. coz if you off it halfway (if you think it hang aready) you camera will no longer BOOT up.. juz like our Windows PC (Missing Boot Record, Please insert Bootable Disk) ... lol Wait for the...

heard that for Nikon, there is more 2nd hand D70 on sale there too ? Someone used to say that the model is also used as a stepping stone by many for newbie in dSLR so the turn over rate is high too... Nikon user pls dun flame me ... :D

You are not alone dude.... wanted to buy something a while ago, have quite a number of PM with him, after when saying to meetup to see the item, he disappaered... so at the end i just spend the money and buy a brand new set instead of playing the waiting game ...

since 80% of your pictures are portrait sots, why not get Tanrom 28-75 f/2.8 ? It is an excellent lens for protrait (you can check out pbase on how many good pics it has captured and the amount of users) and not a bad one for walkaround telephoto.
