sometimes, the best way to express something is to make the lack of it plain obvious

got a few ways to view this pic la. the surroundings being dark and him being lit and in focus could be an enlightenment thing. him looking at somewhere out of the picture also gives it a sense of depth outside the photo (something he's looking at is clear to him, but not to us)
