Hi,
Does anyone know whether you get get/produce stills from videos shot from these cameras, very much like the Panasonic FZ1000 ?
If yes, any idea of the image size for the still photo, i.e. how many megapixels.
Thanks in advance
I would suggest to wait as a new DX camera may be announced soon.
Between the two the D7000 is a much newer camera with better Noise Reduction and Dynamic Range, the D300s is a bit long in the tooth.
Hi
Can I please ask here whether my IMAC computer with 2.66GHZ Intel Core i5 processor and 8 GB Ram memory will be able to
process RAW files from the D800 without too much problem ( aside from disk space which I intend to use an external drive to store processed photos)

Yes, thats my fault I guess, coming once a year back to singapore, thinking that shop was still SLRR.
Admittedly after paying the cash, was quite surprised to see a Bally Photo invoice.
Anyhow learnt my lesson, from now will buy only at TK Photo or John 3.16 in future

Hi
Just to share my experience of being conned.

I have both lenses. I find that the 16-85 is better all round, especially on travels the 16mm gives you a wider angle. Most of the time I do not need to go beyond 85mm anyway and from experience the 16-85 will be able to cover 90 pct if not more of your shots. If you want longer reach then...
Hi
I looked at both lens just 2 days ago, finally decided on the Nikon 70-300VR due to
a) price not that different Nikon SGD 750 Tamron SGD 720
b) I liked (to me anyway) the faster autofocus and the build and of course name - Nikon
c) scared that the Tamron may not be compatible with my...
I have this lens, I find it better than the 18-105 and 18-200 both of which I have as well.
Its extremely sharp and the wider 16mm end is especially useful for landscape and general photography. You will not regret buying it, although bit expensive compared to the 18-105 or 18-70 or 18-200...
