    White band on photos

Thanks for the link!! Looks like might be the same problem. But shutter failure on a new camera? I'll bring it to Canon. Also strange that my 1Ds3 had that same problem a few years ago. But only about 10 frames affected and absolutely no problems with it since. Weird!!

    White band on photos

Hmmm... don't think its a card problem. Was using different cards. Anyway the cards are all new.

    White band on photos

Ya. I was going to bring it down to clean the sensor anyway. Perhaps I'll get them to check it. But if its a shutter issue, why doesn't it happen to all the shots? Only some of the shots are affected.

    White band on photos

Hi everyone. I am having this white banding problem when using my 5DMk3. It doesn't happen all the time. The band is sometimes narrower some broader. Doesn't seem to matter what lens I use. And it always appears on the long side of the photo. Never the short side. Also had the same...

Which AF to choose for wild life?

Nice pic!! Thanks for the advice! Have u tried using the zone AF, using the central zone with 9 AF points instead of only the center AF point? Does that make any difference?

Which AF to choose for wild life?

Yes. What you say is true. I've only ever used (and needed) the centre AF point in all my years of shooting. All my bodies are set to centre AF point only. Perhaps all the other AF points are for those who shoot fast moving subjects and don't have the time to focus, then re-compose and then...

Which AF to choose for wild life?

Thanks for your input. Actually up until now, like yourself I've always been using One Shot AF and using only centre AF point for most of my wild life shots on safari. And it has worked well. Except for some instances when I hand held a 500mm to shoot birds in flight. Then I used AI Servo...

Which AF to choose for wild life?

Hi rhino123, thanks for your reply but I think you've misunderstood my question. I wasn't asking about metering. I was asking about auto focus. As you know, 1Dx and 5DMk3 have the option of 6 "cases" to choose from during AI Servo. I wanted to know which of these "cases" would be most...

Which AF to choose for wild life?

Hi everyone! Regrading the AF system found in the Canon 1Dx and 5DMk3, I wonder if anyone has any experience with it shooting wild life? Which AF case choice produces the best result? Would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!
