Np, try increasing your exposure. I am using +1 2/3 eV but sometimes it still won't achieve what you need.
Adjust your white balance too. The AWB isn't very accurate.
You can also try out the different modes.
Try increasing your aperture and decreasing your shutter speed to allow more light...
Yea its done with macro focus. I didn't want the ISO to be too high (<200) cause I don't want noise in the photo so I never use the function of intelligent ISO.
I got mine just last week from mscolour at 679 with 8g card, mini tripod, oem battery and screen protector. supposed to have card reader too but I think they forgot.

Could you elaborate more on centre weighted metering? Does it help in the case of underexposure cause I think that's my main issue here thought I know there are other issues. (:

Aperture also does a good job in editing the underexposure and contrast details so I will also look into learning it proper.
