Hi guys. How is the AF consistency on your copies of this lens? If you take a few shots of the same subject with camera on tripod and re-focus before each shot, does focus shift around? Assuming lens has no back/front focus.

Hi fellas thanks for the replies. Am trying to compare 17-55's sharpness at its left and right sides rather than against the 17-40. My observation is that the 17-40 is consistently sharp from left to right, while the 17-55 is noticeably softer on the left than on the right. Did newspaper test...

Camera was on tripod. Mirror lock with timer. Yeap focused at center and the rest of the cupboard parallel with camera.
