    D80 is one of the easiest to mod. No soldering required. If you want to DIY I can send you some photos of a disassembled D80;)

    A converted D60 is very nice for IR. I like it more than my converted D80 which produces a lot of noise compared to the D60. I've been using the converted D60 for 2 years until I replaced it with the D80. If conversion is not out of the question, try to contact the CE of this forum...;)

    I also have mixed results with the Sigma 10-24 on a converted D60, D50 and D80. At higher aperture you get little to no hot-spots. But with aperture of 8 and below IR becomes very obvious but not to the point of getting your photos useless. You can always "paint-out" this hotspot if it becomes...

    Try putting a very thin shim (the silver one) on the bottom left where you screw the sensor. I think the sensor is not leveled imho....:dunno:

    If you are using Nikon CaptureNX, try shooting raw and Post-setting the WB. You can use any reference point as your WB in CaptureNX. Here's how you do it: Choose any WB in your D90 (A, Tungsten, Daylight, etc) and shoot RAW (you can only change your WB in raw format) In captureNX click...

    All in one conversion

    Nice find... A bit pricey for USD 89.95 and not to mention the conversion cost...:(. Worst part is it's only available for Canon. UV/IR blocking filters doesn't come cheap as well and of course you will need another IR pass filter for IR photography. A second hand unit can go as low as USD...
