    Shooting at kid's party

I just spent 4 hours shooting kids at my daughter's birthday party today. The venue was at a club and we started with bowling first, lunch at cafe and finally at playground outdoor. I used EM5 with 12-35mm f2.8 most of the time without flash. I only used flash for the cake cutting segment. I...

    Panasonic announces the LUMIX G X VARIO 35-100mm / F2.8 / POWER O.I.S

I am sure you are aware of this but just in case, you do realize that when you change system it is not just getting a new body but you also need to buy lenses, flash and other accessories. This can quickly adds up to a few times the cost of the body depending on what you buy. When I moved from...

    Panasonic announces the LUMIX G X VARIO 35-100mm / F2.8 / POWER O.I.S

I agree with another forum member that this is not a good plan. In fact, I came to m43 system from a FF system and have no regrets at all. Now I take a lot more photos of my young children than before because I bring my camera out with me a lot more often. When you have kids, you really don't...

    Video settings for EM5

I finally gotten myself an EM5 recently. Love the small size and OOC JPEG colors. Have been bring it out to shoot much more often than my DSLR. I have tried shooting videos of my kids without much luck. The AF hunts quite a bit when recording video and quite often a moving subject will...

Converting AVCHD Lite files to MP4

Hi HydroPoP Thanks for the suggestion. I installed the Quick Media Converter and it worked! I am quite amazed by how small the output file (MP4) is compared to the original (AVCHD Lite) - its something like 10% of the original. I selected H264 HQ (.mp4) 16:9 as the output option. Leong

Converting AVCHD Lite files to MP4

Hi I recently bought an LX5 and have been video recording in AVCHD Lite format. I would like to watch the videos on my iPad which only support MP4 format. Any advice on how to convert AVCHD Lite to MP4? I did a search online and was quite confused. Thanks.

    Khmers lightshow @ cambodia

We were there around 5:30 m. We were late as there was already a big crowd forming around the pond with some of the people sitting on plastic chairs provided by the eager drink/food vendors there. We had to settle at the corner of the pond which was not ideal.

    Khmers lightshow @ cambodia

Wow....Beautiful sunrise shots! The first one is really outstanding. Definitely postcard quality. I was at the same spot a few days ago and the sunrise was no way near yours. Leong

    Eos 7D ???

It is highly unlikely that this camera has IS on the body. Most likely it has an built-in electronic level - just like in Nikon D3.

Just in:Couple of test shots from 5D Mk 2

Congratulations on the purchase! How do you find the AF performance compare to the 5D or 40/50D? There is quite a lot of discussion on the dpreview forum on its AF since it is ported over from the 5D. Thanks.

I went to Paris for the first time in Aug this year. Like you I was a bit worry about whether it was safe to bring my camera gear along. When I was there I found that the city was quite safe even for lone traveller. I carried my Lowepro backpack and tripod everywhere I went using the Metro...

New SDW course - Landscape photography

Hi Sulhan I was in the course as well. Yeah...I second what you said about the course. The course is really well worth the money. I did not get the chance to talk to you - you were the guy on your knees begging the subject to let you photograph him, right??? Hee...hee.... I am the guy...
