    Bro , I really understands how you feel. Had some issues with Canon over my 10D also some time back. They never get it fixed and keeps claiming " ITS WITHIN OUR SPECS" and brush us aside. My foot !! Its your within yours and not consumers like us. Think we gotta upgrade to those Pro cam to enjoy...

    I some how agree. But we all know 10D has the softest shutter slap. If mine is loud it could proberbly a faulty one.

    I presume changing a new one will solve the irritating sound.I could have gotten a bad copy. If still loud then "lan lan", pardon my england! :D I suggest you wait out and check back with me next week. Don't feel good sending my "preciuosss" for major ops!

    Hey I had this problem with my 3 month old 10D too. When I wrote to canon to complain and the ask me send in. The manager attended to me said to me its within thier specs!! And told them "Specs my foot" (just kidding :D ). I tried my firends 2 set all sound so gentle. Mine's as loud as a 300D...

    bro, i used a 420ex before i gotten the 550ex. Let me tell you go for the 550ex will not be wrong. 420ex like not enough power and over expose if subject is near. but 550ex exposes correctly even if I use direct flash!

    yep same same. Not changing to 20D any time soon, so went for the 550ex too. To my amazement, its really very very much better than a 420ex.
