    missing one

I dont think someone chopped off the horn. It could be due to accident or some sort.

    Sigma 105 Macro lens

here's my sample pic taken from sigma 105mm @F4. I believe you wont be able to get a 'good' bokeh if the background is to close to the subj. Just my 2 cents worth....

    Sigma 105 Macro lens

Have you taken the same subj with different macro lens? I think other lenses would behave the same way, unless you have some sample pic to show us that the bokeh is different using other macro lens.

    Question on Corrupted CF Card

The best way to know is to try it. Ive got Sandisk 128mb that has a "bad sector" (I guess), as when I view the content from the cam it show one slot with big *?*. No matter how I format the card, it's still there. I can still use the CF but less one pic though bec it occupies 1 slot.

    first try

was that a question or a test? hmm, le'me guess: Focus your subject at the aperture you want to take (say F11), then shift/point your cam to the background without re-focusing and get the shutter reading (assuming you're using Aperture priority). Say, you've got 1/30... To underexpose by 1...
