Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

CP is selling $4200 and price is inclusive gst cash or credit card. But I think the price is not relevant here as the queue is very long even for their regulars. So unless you are willing to wait, you should not use CP to benchmark as I don't think any shops is willing to match CP price.

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

After all the "hustle and bustle" finally got my D800 too and it came in a Canon plastic bag too :) I am the loner surrounded by at least another 4-5 groups of excited customers in the store collecting their 5D Mark III, I think that is why they gave me a Canon plastic bag so that I can blend in.

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Without any deny Nikon make great products that is why there are so many users still sticking around, some even stick their necks out to defend the brand, but I really felt that we are all screwed over by how they try to sell and market the D800 product to us, and this is not the way to treat...

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Not surprising and most likely it is the case, imagine they are still trying to clear off D90 in the last IT Show after the product has been discontinued in Japan since mid last year.

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Yes, probably you are right we should not be so hard on Nikon, those not happy just suck it up and go pick up 5DM3. I think Nikon probably never expect to sell more than 2-3 D800s per dealer on ship day, so this is really unprecedented. However for Apple, I don't think they are that short in...

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Look like Nikon marketing respond to Canon 5D Mark III successful launch here last week is a miscarriage, ouch!! :D :D Actually, it would be better and less negative backslash, if Nikon hold back the launch until such time that they have adequate stock to meet atleast some demands instead of...

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

I heard every dealers get about 2-3 pcs only, no advice on the next shipment, maybe months accordingly to a dealer I spoke to. I think probably about 20-30pcs island wide, what kind of product rollout is that ? less than what a smaller dealer carry for 5D3 last week. Must be joking, really...

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Can literally felt the dismay of the Nikon users hoping to finally get an hand on D800, and especially so after we witness all the song and dance put up by Canon last week during the 5D Mark3, well executed launch, no false start or boo boo. Btw, I heard another new batch of 5D Mark III is...

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Now, 5D Mark III look more viable. Canon as a company look lot more well organized, adequate stock and timely delivery for most people and a reason launch price of S$4,200 for US$3500 SRP. Looking at all the news on the net and here, got a feeling that Nikon is struggling to meet delivery.

Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

THAT IS REALLY TOO MUCH. Nikon Singapore must be thinking that users here are very naive and desperate, no matter how you compute it will not be S$4488. US$3000 SRP convert to S$3,810 (high fx rate of 1.27) plus gst 7%=S$4077. So the question is how desperate are we?

    D7000 at below -10°C

Frankly, I did not experience any problem with faster draining of the battery, out of "kiasu" I brought 3 batteries and only change 1 battery once, which is usual for my holiday because I do lot of reviews and deletion of pictures. The real problem I faced was the shutter release of the...

    D7000 at below -10°C

I brought it to Harbin holiday under -20°C without any problem and the battery function as normal without any problem. I also did noticed lot of peoples carrying entry level dslr like 550D and D3000 and theirs seem ok too.

    24-120 nikkor vr2

Bros, I don't think I can give you a fair technical comparison on the two lenses as I am not technical. I have been shooting slr and dslr for many years, though not so much on Nikon (until D7000) but Canon. I find 18-200 is very good general purpose lens to carry around, but at 11x zoom you...

    24-120 nikkor vr2

I took D7000 w/24-120 for an holiday recently, I found it to be adequate for my purpose (quite subjective from person to person on shooting style), I shot mainly scenery, landscape, architecture and small group photos. In fact, I did not miss the wider 18mm of my 18-200mm, which I did not use...
