I've tried mylavalu.com. Their results are quite good. Bear in mind that overseas PP companies tend to excel in natural lighting images since most of their weddings/ceremonies are in natural light, so YMMV. As what some has mentioned, make sure that you charge enough to cover these expenses :)

Actually, it makes no sense to say 8MB file. It's more accurate to provide minimum image dimensions and dpi. JPG compression can easily reduce a 22MP raw image to <5MB depending on the image captured. But then, that would be nitpicking :)

Adobe Lightroom can cover a wide gamut of needs, from basic corrections to more complex tasks. Give it a run by downloading the trial. Probably can't get away from technical terms and some reading up ;)

I'd go with a 5D or 5D2 paired with a 24-105 lens for general travel photos, and perhaps a 50 f/1.4 for portraitures on your travels :)
