well i love to shoot people at gatherings. currently using a 18-200 Canon lens.. but friends and peers told me to get the 50mm if want to take some nice close up shots of ppl.

well i aint on a budget.. just wanna know what the use of a 50mm f1.8 lens.. i was told by friends that this lens create a blur effect if u take on potrait shots... isit true?
