I'll vote for 24-105. I used to attached my 24-70 to 30D and I was quite satisfied until i recently upgrade to full frame and IMO the 70 is just too short.

No, 3rd party lenses are NOT necessarily crap but I use and buy only original lenses whenever possible. i prefer silence focusing.

Can't afford to get a 5D MKII, so only go for 5D. In addition, getting new 5D MKII will need further upgrade like Memory card and PC to handle the big file sizes generated by new it.

All the time with my EOS 5D except for vacation. I found it's easier for me to handle with my grip and Canon E-1 hand strap attached. I think mainly because I need extra place for me becasue I'll stretch my four fingers wide when holding the camera.
