I did brought along my 24-105L .. which is good enough for walk about shots. The wide angle lens I am using is 10-24, which is barely ok at 10mm, as the working space is quite litmited + obstructions. Do expect high failure rates when shooting them (lower if just normal shooting).. chromatic...

I always thought I am able to get a proper tripod with just 200 bucks... It seemed that the tripods in this range are heavy and bulky, which makes no sense for me to get it when I always wanted to bring it around... I ended up getting a 400 buck set up, Manfrotto 732CY with Sirui Ball head, and...

Oh... My question as yet to be answered.. For this kind of panoramic group shot, do we stay in a spot and rotate our body and take the shots? Or do we shift to left or right to take the subsequent shot? Since this is different from scenery pano, moving is needed for closer subjects?

Quite true.. but now the front people want those that are behind them to stay.. :D Well... Thats my job... rare opportunity... you dont get to "gather" so many for a group shot!

Haha... Here's my plan: 1) Gather everyone... do pan shot + stitch 2) Gather in 3 groups + gaps in between + pan shot stitch 3) Take by 1 photo squeeze everyone in... if all cant work out, Take by groups... individual shots 50-80 per shot... Another question: 1) For panoramic...

That's what I think too.. I am prepared to manual stitch... therefore I was concerned about the distortion at the edges. The worst case scenario will be to split 600 pax to 200 pax into 3 groups, aligning them next to one another with some gap between. This may be easier to stitch...

i will be using stitching with CS3 .. if not CS4... unless someone can recommend the another freeware to use. File size will defnitely be BIG.

I Was thinking of using masking tape to mark out the frame edge, then do stitching... Panning shots by following the masking tape ... Portrait stitching sounds great ... It will be less distorted... I am concerned when doing stitching people, especially with distortion ... 12mm lens will have...

I will be using two bodies ... 550d and d80... I got no other choice.. If can't fit 600 then no choice .. Split them 300 300... But 300 is still very challenging! Light is my concern ... High depth + fast shutter may mean my iso setting will need to increase... Will let you know in 2...
