sorry, should have specified that I was using a D70 (wish I had your choices :o )

I did a quick test of the two, both 512MB. Put it in continuous mode and rattled off 15 shots, the Lexar 40x did it in like 16.8 seconds and the Ultra II in 11.8 seconds. Not a super controlled environment, had the camera on my desk and just held the shutter, swapped the cards and did it again.
