Below are a couple of shots I took during my recent trip using my 550D and EF-S 10 - 20mm lens.
If you take a look at the higher resolution versions in my Flickr site, you will realised they are not too sharp. For sunset image, I played with the aperture speed (1/80) at 3.5 and ISO...
Characteristic of 18-55 and 18-135 should be similar right? Haven't tried external flash but don't think I need it as am still new to photography.

My budget should fall around the 1k region. I was considering 15-85mm lens. I have a 50mm f1.8 to take some nice bokehs. Wanted it as a walk-about or travel lens.

Something that can justify the sensor because I find that the kit lens really not giving good results.
