scene mode as in "Night Portrait", "Auto" or "P" modes, the F locks at F2.8, so only the center part is in focus, using live view and tripod.

I am using Tamron 17-50mm with A550, if I switch to any of the scene mode, it locks at F2.8 and when taking pictures of group photos, all are out of forcus. Does it means that using the 17-50mm, the only choice to get all forcus photos is to set at "A" or "M" mode and set to F8 and above?

I wondwer should i wait for this camera, or just settle with the A550. Another camera under my consideration is the Panasonic GF-1. I was using Alpha A350 previously.
