Agreed, unless the indoor lighting is good a usual kit lens will suffer. Usually you'll see yourself shooting at 800+ ISO, or very blurred images.

Yeah.... as a 1000D user, don't bother with the 1000D unless you're really just trying or it's a free gift. Spend a little more and target for the 550D which is much better. Pentax has its solid lineup too, so do bear that in consideration when comparing between the 3 brands.

Well, I already own a 1000D for walkaround, currently my lens selection is pretty limited with an 18-55 ef-s, 50-1.8 and a 75-300. Probably will get the 5dII bundle for the 24-105 to use as my new primary body. The main thing I was looking at 1D4 was the shutter speed as well as the weather...

Hmmm... don't know if it's properly related, but would like to ask if considering the current prices, would it be more worthwhile to get a 1D-IV body over a 5D-MKII + 24-105/F4L kit? Price difference is about $2000, more into portrait/landscape but have an interest in event/sports...

I'm a proud user of a 1000D myself, but at this time you may want to consider the 550D instead due to its capabilities and pricing. Still... if you have a handful of old lenses that are of KM/Sony mount, then just go for a Sony =)

I have two seagates 1T and 1.5T storage... both developed the "clucking" and read errors within months of use. I am shifting over to WD now... slightly more costly but more reliable.
