i do understand that a FF dslr is better for low-light conditions.
i'm actually just a newbie in photography, i do not particularly focus on any gene of photography. so basically i snap everything, or i should say anything that catches my attention...

Really? 'cause my 18-55mm lens focus ring can't even be rotated when the switch is set to AF. Of course, i only use a very slight strength to try.
Oh, no the lens isn't attached to my dslr when i was rotating the focus lens. I was just testing it 'cause i once accidentally rotated it when i took it(50mm) out from my bag.
I was wondering why it can be rotated when AF is on for my 50mm while my 18-55mm can't, could it be the 50mm lens is...

I understand that on my EF-S 18-55mm IS lens, when it's set to AutoFocus, you're unable to rotate the focus ring manually.
However for my EF 50mm f1.8 II lens, i am still able to rotate the focus ring manually even when it's set to AutoFocus.
I did tried taking some shots with that...
