One reasons I could think of is that, people bought HS10 as their introduction system on photography. Over time, their skill outgrow their equipment, thus the sell of HS10 to fund for equipment upgrade.

18-200 mm. Very versatile

Download the user manual, familiarize to the function you want/need from the camera (e.g auto bracketing, customize WB, multiple exposure, movie mode etc). During the deal time make sure the functions is there and working properly.

I would not recommend 8x for handheld, as it has very thin DOF plus very close focus distance. The front element of the lens could touch your object.
